With physical colocation services, physically separate servers, switches and routers are colocated in a datacenter. The more physical servers and appliances a business needs, the more rack space they must rent. Over time, the physical servers age, become obsolete and begin to experience failures. With limited or difficult upgrade paths, lack of proper disaster preparation and almost no fault tolerance, physical server colocation may not prove reliable enough for most businesses.
Grid Colocation is the hosting of physical servers and appliances within our robust Grid network built upon the VMware Infrastructure framework deployed and managed by GridSouth Networks. Physical servers can be converted to GridServers and deployed within our robust VMware grid. Additionally, virtual servers and other virtualized devices can be sent to GridSouth for deployment on our VMware grid.
GridSouth Networks can convert most operational physical servers for deployment on our grid. Servers can be shipped to our data center labs for on-site conversion by our technical team. Once the physcial server has been converted and tested, it is deployed on our VMware grid. Server owners are then provided with the necessary access for managing their equipment on our grid. The physical equipment is then shipped back to the customer. If shipping a server to our data center lab is not feasible, our technical team can work with your company to convert your servers remotely and then deploy them in our VMware infrastructure grid.
In addition to converting servers, the network infrastructure is also converted for deployment on our grid leading to the elimination of physical switches. All network connections become virtual leading to greater flexibility, improved security and enhanced networking performance. Our technical staff can work with customers to plan and deploy their entire network within our VMware infrastructure grid.
